The grass is greener …..at Lemongrass!

Craving for some authentic Thai cuisine, I couldn’t think of any other restaurant other than Lemongrass restaurant.

Having tried out other Thai food outlets, this one just stood out the best for me.

We went on a weekend to the Karama brunch, and was greeted by the very humble staff who made sure to cater to our needs – be it from arranging our table prior to our arrival, and recommending the best.

Without further ado, let’s dive into what we tasted and our recommendations:

Lemongrass have recently come up with an absolute mouth-watering set lunch for AED 45 only – trust me the food is much more worth the value – the variety of starters to main course and dessert was just WOW to me.

We started off by beating the summer with a cool Qcumber cooler that felt refreshing and increased our appetite even more! The Qcumber cooler is a blend of freshly sliced cucumber with sparkling water – a simple yet great refresher to quench one’s thirst!

Lemongrass is arguably one of the best Thai joints in Dubai, and you would obviously notice why – we were offered an aromatic Bamee Giew Tom Yum soup for starters. The soup is served with with egg noodles, shrimp Won-ton, bean sprouts and a crispy Won-ton sheet. Bursting with lemongrass and seafood flavours, the soup – from The Chef Recommends menu is an absolute must try if you’re concerned about any viral flu of sorts (since I was suffering from one!) and within an instant, it was over!

Moving on from the soup, we went in for the delectable Talai Pan Takray, also known as seafood cakes with lemongrass skewers. This from the starters was my favorite – the tender minced seafood rolled in crumbs was delicious giving one the feeling of biting into seafood “kebabs”!

Also, on the list of starters was also the Poh Pia Tod Spring rolls accompanied with fresh Thai salad of cabbage and herbs in vinegar on a tortilla.

Of course, by now we were full, and couldn’t divulge into main course. However, when the staff brought the Kao Pad Sapparod – also called Pineapple rice, we couldn’t resist!

The pineapple rice was beautifully cooked in pineapple bursting with tangy flavours of pineapple, and seafood. This is an absolute must try as part of your main course. Such a unique but brilliant concept that I haven’t come across in any other restaurant!

Finally, after a scrumptious lunch, it was time to have a fortune cookie paired with Thai green tea to help digest our food!

After a good hot drink, we went in straight for the dessert to end our luncheon on a good note, and tried the corn with coconut custard and sago which was the cherry on top!

If you’re craving Thai, or simply are looking for a reasonable yet quality lunch – Lemongrass is definitely the place to go to!
